InDesign
For this task, we’ll be using InDesign to do exactly that: bring together type and image.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Text
Choose a song lyric as your text. Simply search for the lyrics online, and use copy-paste to bring them into InDesign. - Images
Gather a collection of at least 10 images that relate to your chosen lyrics. These could be
photos of the artist, the band, or visuals inspired by the song.
Task 1:
Create a CD inlay booklet that presents your lyric and a selection of images across 8 or 12 pages. Dimensions 120mm2

Task: Using illustrator to design / illustrate a pin badges that are more than a pin badge, they are Anti Social-Anxiety Devices.
The purpose of these Anti Social-Anxiety Devices is to act as your introduction. They
can be handed out to dignitaries at society functions, they can be sent ahead to
diplomats and government officials, they can be worn and pointed at when you can’t be
arsed to speak. They are your first impression, in a handy, wearable and ‘cool and down
with the kidz’ format.
I wanted to experiment a bit more with Illustrator and get to use it a bit more and so I decided to express the ideas of ‘Anti-social anxiety’ pins through Sanrio characters and the expressions through that way.
Pin sizes:
Small
diameter – 25mm (35mm with overlap)
Medium
diameter -32mm (45mm with overlap)
Large
diameter 58mm (70mm with overlap)
I decided to go with a regular small pin, the Illustration I made had to fit within the 25mm so that it did not overlap round. I thoroughly enjoyed this task especially the making of the badges.
Add outer and inner circle, put down the 25mm circle so that I could position my artwork within it so when I made the pin it would fit well and not overlap.
